it ensures health security for every health and cosmetic product.
- Antifungal
- Destroying or inhibiting the growth of fungi.
- Antiprotozoal
- A substance that kills or inhibits the growth of single-celled microorganisms called protozoa.
- Apitherapy
- It is the use of products collected, transformed or secreted by the bee (pollen, propolis, royal jelly, honey and venom) for medicinal purposes.
B
- Beeswax
- Yellow substance secreted by the bees, which is used to build the cells in the hive.
- BBD
- Best Before Date : These dates are only advisory and refer to the quality of the product, in contrast with use by dates, which indicates that the product is no longer safe to
consume after the specified date. In fact, food kept past the best before date will not necessarily be harmful, but may begin to lose its optimum flavour and texture.
C
- Cosmébio
- Professional association for organic and ecological cosmetics created in 2002. It ensures the consumers that the cosmetic products contain natural and organic ingredients
and it is certified by an independent certification board.
D
- DGCCRF
- Means literally
Direction Générale de la Concurrence, de la Consommation et de la Répression des Fraudes

- ECOCERT is a control and certification organisation, whose activities are governed accordingly by the public authorities and legislation. ECOCERT SAS is accredited
for the certification of organic and ecological products from the food and farming industries.
- Ecological
- A product will be considered as Ecological if it possesses less than 95% of organic vegetable ingredients and at least 5% of ingredients certified organic on the total
product.
- EGP
- Glycolic Extract of Propolis.
- Essential Oil
- Volatile, fragrant substance obtained from plants in a liquid form. The oils are isolated by steam distillation, extraction, or mechanical expression of the plant material;
often only certain parts are used to extract the aromatic essence.
- ESP16 BIO
- Organic Dry Extract of Propolis.
F
- Flavonoids
- They are the most common group of polyphenolic compounds. They are widely distributed in plants. Flavonoids are the most important plant pigments. For several years,
medical researches have highlighted their pharmacological properties, such as antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-tumor and anti-allergy properties.
G
- Gas chromatography
- Analytic method for separating and analyzing molecules from a complex combination that can be vaporized without decomposition.
- GMO
- Genetically Modified Organism.
- GMP
- Good Manufacturing Practice.
- Glycolic
- It is the name given to an acid resulting from the oxidation of glycol.
H
- HACCP
- Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point. System that identifies, evaluates and controls the significant dangers regarding food safety.

honeycombs inside the beehive.
M
- Mass Spectrometry
- Analytical technique for the determination of the elemental composition and chemical structures of molecules.
O
- Organic
- A product will be considered as Organic if it possesses more than 95% of organic vegetable ingredients and at least 10% of ingredients certified organic on the total product.
- Organic acid

- It is coming from the Greek etymology and means
that can be perceived by sensory organs
. Those tests are performed, especially on food, using the sensory organs, to
evaluate taste, color, odor and feel
P
- Paraben
- Esters of para-hydroxybenzoic acid and alcohol. Parabens are found naturally in plant sources. They are widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical
industries as they present bactericidal and fungicidal properties. Biologically, parabens have shown on mammals an activity close to the estrogenic activity (female sex hormone)
and an issue concerning their potential toxicity has been raised.
- Phenol acid
- Organic compound made of a carboxylic function bonded directly to a hydroxyl group (-OH).
- Phenoxyethanol
